While the government is focusing on building the infrastructure, some organizations are undertaking the task of rebuilding the life of the affected people by helping them to relocate, retrain and getting back to their normal life. These organizations include The Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO), The International Medical Health Organization (IMHO) and the Boston Tamil Association of New England.

These organizations are registered charitable organization in the USA and are conducting relief and rebuilding efforts in Tamils area and they need private funds for their operation. Please support them for their focussed effort in the north east to make the difference in the people's life. Here is a list of some local and international organizations that are involved in tsunami relief efforts in Sri Lanka and in other countries.

There are several unanswered questions: Whether to rebuild at the same place or relocate the buildings further away from the coast line. What is the probability of having another tsunami in the next 5 to 10 year periods? How do we help the adults and youngsters whose livelihood has been destroyed?
