View
after One year of Tsunami Disaster
Over
30,000 people in Sri Lanka Northern, Eastern and southern
coastal area have been estimated to be dead by Tsunami.
The infrastructures of these areas including hospitals,
transportation, schools have been partially or completely
damaged in December 2004. Some of those people who lost
their houses are still in refugee camps while some of
them are fortunate enough to get the funds to rebuild
their houses. It has been a frustrating experience for
many people living in the north and east since the promised
funds to rebuild the infrastructures and to improve the
livelihood of the affected people are tied down with political
incongruity between the government and the rebels.
